Cleveland native Kevin “Chill” Heard has been leading independent tours of the Egyptian galleries at the Cleveland Museum of Art since 2016, guiding more than 2,000 visitors through research-driven explorations of ancient Egyptian history, art, and hieroglyphics. His work is grounded in formal study of hieroglyphic systems, ongoing dialogue with Egyptologists, and direct engagement with major collections, including a dedicated research visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Since 2022, Heard has traveled regularly to Egypt, leading immersive group tours and deepening his focus on pharaonic culture.Known for making complex history accessible, Heard blends scholarly insight with compelling storytelling, transforming the gallery experience into something engaging, relevant, and memorable. Beyond the museum, Heard is the founder and executive director of My Cool Solutions Inc., a long-time journalist, and a respected cultural voice in Cleveland. He spent more than 25 years with the historic Call & Post and is also recognized as MC Chill, one of the city’s pioneering hip-hop artists and its first nationally recognized rap recording artist.
